What is Direct Billing?
Direct billing means your appointment is billed directly to your insurance provider on your behalf. Many extended health plans cover Registered Massage Therapy, but coverage details vary depending on your individual policy.
Some insurance companies don’t allow direct billing, while others may require a doctor’s note before coverage applies. Please check the specifics of your plan before your appointment to avoid any surprises.
Any remaining balance not covered by your insurance must be paid at the time of your visit. If a claim is declined or cannot be processed for any reason, full payment will be required at the appointment.
What is the Direct Billing process?
1. Check with your insurance provider to confirm that they cover RMT services and allow direct billing. It is also recommended to find out the amount of coverage provided, or whether you are required to pay a deductible.
2. Book your appointment and fill out the insurance information on the form that is sent with your intake form.
3. Fill out and sign the direct billing authorization form. This form is specific to your insurance company, and it will be sent to you by e-mail once your insurance information has been received.
4. Before the treatment begins, the insurance details you provided will be confirmed, the claim will be submitted, and payment will be taken for any remaining portion of the visit fee.
